The London Times reports that life is indeed better than it was when Sadaam Hussein was in power.
Some choice excerpts:
The survey of more than 5,000 Iraqis found the majority optimistic despite their suffering in sectarian violence since the American-led invasion four years ago this week.
This is even though one in four have had a family member murdered. If this is the case, what an amazing resolve these people have!
Only 27% think there is a civil war in Iraq, compared with 61% who do not, according to the survey carried out last month.
Hmmm….. about the opposite of the perception in the United States.
By a majority of two to one, Iraqis believe military operations now under way will disarm all militias. More than half say security will improve after a withdrawal of multinational forces.
Again, contrast this with the daily dose of gloom, despar, agony on me; deep dark depression, excessive misery given to us with an “Oh, it’s so so hard for them” (you need to give the baby voice lisp of the MSM).
The question is “why” do these people believe this, or perhaps the London Times, that “bastion” of hard right ideology who wear HAWK feather in a war bonnet, have joined the vast right wing conspiracy of those who support the mission of our soldiers.
Yeah, that sounds “reasonable”. NOT!
